The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Florida State pitcher Tyler Holton, but this time around, his backstop also got some love.

According to Baseball America, Holton has been named a second-team preseason All-American as a utility player. After serving as FSU’s ace in 2017, Holton is expected to get more opportunities with the bat.

On the mound last season, Holton posted a 10-3 record with a 2.34 ERA while holding opposing hitters to a dismal .178 batting average. He also struck out 144 batters in just over 119 innings. At the plate, Holton hit .244 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 45 at-bats.

Junior catcher Cal Raleigh is listed as a third-team selection by Baseball America. After being named a Freshman All-American in 2016, Raleigh took a significant step back as a sophomore, hitting just .227 with nine homers and 39 RBIs last year.

Both players are expected to be on the field when the Seminoles kick off the 2018 campaign on Feb. 16 against Xavier.
